Art House at the Ejector Seat Festival 2011

Yesterday, we had a fun and successful day at The Ejector Seat Music Festival!  New friends were made, food and tea was enjoyed, we supported a fabulous local event and - right at the bottom of the list but still there - took nearly £1000, the surplus from which will go to our new security system.

To illustrate how our little community works to make a day like yesterday happen, here's all the people who gave their time, skills and love.  Remember, every hour worked yesterday was done for love, not money!

Here they are, in no particular order...

Zak - putting the tent up, setting up, prepping food, washing up, serving food
Louise - Making food in advance of the day, and in the morning, planning, serving food in the tent

Tony - loading and preparing beforehand, setting up, cooking mushrooms all day even though he hates them, making us all laugh!

Bik - helping organise the music stage, publicising, planning, fetching and carrying things in advance of the day, setting up, serving drinks & food, making food and taking it all back down again & counting up the money, making sure Jani doesn't explode.

Joe - Serving in the tent all afternoon

Natalie - serving food in the tent all afternoon

Paul - working back at the ranch to make sure the cafe was open as usual

Iris - spending her FIRST SHIFT EVER in the kitchen getting food ready in the morning - we hope she's back, it's not always that manic, Iris!!

Ziggy - helping plan menu, making sure enough food was ordered, prepping food in advance and on the day

John - making falafels & hummus, ferrying things to and fro on his bike trailer all day, making sure Zigz gets enough hugs!

Alice - making food for the cafe so the kitchen staff could prep food for the stall

Amber - making an AMAZING spanakopita the day before

Nina - the volunteer rota, pre-ordering enough food & drink, loading up, being the contact at The Art House all day, keeping the cafe running smoothly, ferrying things back and forth, washing up at the end of the day and counting up the money - not to mention accounting for it all accurately and ensuring suppliers are paid.

Matt - helping tat down at the end of the day, ferrying the barbeque back, washing up and packing away, making sure Nina gets enough hugs

Madeline (unofficial volunteer as she's Matt's daughter!) - helping pack up - even the small ones get involved!

Ruth - taking orders and cash on the stall, checking out the crafts market for new things for the shop, unloading and washing up at the end of the day.

Keith (aka Bik's Dad!) - working back at the cafe to make sure the cafe ran as normal

Naomi - serving food back at the cafe to make sure we were open as usual

Alis - serving drinks in the tent

Hannah - working back at the cafe in the afternoon to make sure all was well there!

Mark Littleton-Grey - organising a marquee for the music, bringing lots of chairs and tables, setting up, taking it all back down again

Cath - pre-planning, setting up, organising music, playing music, taking things down!

Jani - pre-planning emails and meetings, publicity, ordering food and supplies in advance, setting up, serving food, washing up, packing down, washing up, writing this note :) making sure Bik's beard gets stroked frequently.

Malcolm - bringing his paintings and hanging them in the tent

Az of Lemontree Photography  - bringing his camera to do his 'photo booth' - totally voluntarily on his ONE Saturday off this month from wedding photography!

Chris Townsend - arranging the 'Minced Head' jam session in the afternoon and playing da fiddle.

Steve Lowis - organising the Three Monkeys times two to play and playing himself.

Raj, Huck, Richie Burnett, Richard Barton, Cath Watkins and Joe Cunio aka botyov1791, Yana and friend (impromptu set!), Alex Bowron, David Cefai, Paul and Jo aka Mary Jane Unplugged, Nic Bradford & Ken aka Beggar's Choice for bringing their music to our space - you were all amazing!

Mac and all of the Ejector Seat crew for giving us a great event and an opportunity to be part of it!

I really hope I haven't forgotten anyone!
