How exciting.... as of 25th April The Art House Southampton is registered as a Community Interest Company. This is a type of company structure designed for businesses like ours, which run for the benefit of the community rather than to make profit for shareholders.
The certificate arrived in the post this morning causing Nina and Bik to do a happy dance around the cafe, whilst I was trying to have a sensible telephone conversation! We are one of only around 180 Community Interest Companies in the UK, which is pretty cool.
