Metamorphosis director's log

Ok can someone remind me how I got into all of this. I blame Jelly Bean the most aided and abetted by Senor Tickly Beerd. Nina tempted me in with all her talk of hand-made rum truffles the scheming dredlocked temptress....
eeek I thinks gonna be late s'morning truck along find that the place is shut and the tumble weeds a blowing.... trundle across to the library for a wee (nice warm loo) and a quick dip into the graphic novels - aha a Batman one I haven't read yet.... :)
Stir into life when a text message informs me that the rest of the crew has landed safely. After much grumbling some shortbread bickies, a strong coffee and some decidedly sideways banter we pick up our tools of choice and head downstairs to the streetlevel floor, only to find - as JJB mentioned - that the paint on the walls peeled off easier than a tangerine - gah!!
The floor is also a patchwork of doom with rotting bits, lumpy bits, sticky bits and damp bits.
Nina scurries back and forth with help from Holly and Reg in their car (thanks guys much appreciated) for the drip drip de-doom of the former art house which already looks sadder and emptier.... (good times good times) Tony trundles in and as usual is a real trooper as is Stella and Megan both of whom got handed scrapers before they had a chance to turn around twice and have a cuppa tea. Not forgetting Shane who brought enough tools to make our builder Chris green with envy... bless Shane he stayed all day till just before 6pm mostly scraping the crappy paintwork off the wall.

Yes trying to scrape an inch thick of glue off a floor (after having ripped the gash lino off) is pretty much the definition of ultimate doom. You cd stick a brontosaurus to the spot with it...
Time for a mugga tea which was enjoyed a little too much (its the little things) and a nice sit down.

After the dust had settled, trundled off to Pokesdown to meet up with John and have a slap up 9th Anniversary meal at one of our favourite veggie/vegan eateries Wessex Tales - as usual it did not disappoint! I had a delicious carrot coriander and coconut soup with their special onion herby bread, a glass of fizzy elderflower for starters, John had a yummy split yellow pea and bay leaf soup with ginger beer. For mains John had the house chickpea curry and a share of a Saml Smiths cherry beer, I had the special mushroom and aubergine pie with all the trimmings and the rest of the cherry beer. Still found a corner for the acclaimed sticky toffee pud with a hefty dollop of vanilla (soya) ice cream and a mugga hot choc, John's dessert was a probably more healthy rhubarb and apple fruit compote with a dollop of vegan raspberry ice cream washed down with a strong black coffee. All that cost us about £40 not bad... as usual service was great and Tina a delight to chat to.

Time to got to bed now for a few hours kip before the fun starts again. Now where did John put my teddy bear?
